A Little Busy Bee

Hey everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine ☀️
Here’s a recap of the past two weeks:
Grace
This was actually my word of the year a few years back. Grace, to me, means treating ourselves with ease, softness and compassion. Accepting ourselves as we are and cutting ourselves some slack. Grace is not something we need to earn; it is something we allow.
Intention: I meet myself with grace.
Journalling prompt: Where in my life can I give myself more grace?
Mindfulness
Mindfulness means being present with the body and breath, learning to live more in the present moment and not focusing too much on the past or future. It is about tuning into what you need in each moment.
Mindfulness helps me ground myself, especially living with anxiety and fibromyalgia. It can be difficult to be present in my body at times, particularly when I am experiencing chronic pain, but practising mindfulness offers a much-needed pause when life gets busy.
Mindfulness is always available to you and is just a deep breath away.
I practise mindfulness daily through meditation, nature walks, gardening, slowly drinking tea and breathing techniques.
Intention: I am connected to my body and my breath
Journaling prompt: How can I bring more mindfulness into my daily life?
Class updates
There will only be classes on Wednesday next week, as Monday is a bank holiday and Thursday is the election.
Wednesday class times:
12 to 1 pm - Stag Room
7:30 to 8:30 pm - Main Hall
I am taking the following week off to celebrate my birthday in Greece, so there will be no classes from 11th to 14th May. I will be back teaching on Saturday, 16th May, for my self-compassion workshop.
To account for the break and bank holidays, I have extended everyone’s 6-class pass by 4 weeks starting next week. If you have any questions, please message me. I am happy to help!
Out and about!
I have been feeling much better recently with my fibromyalgia, so I have been catching up with friends and family and celebrating birthdays. I have had two weeks of karaoke birthday celebrations, my voice is definitely proof that I cannot sing, but I love giving it a go anyway! 🎤
I also took my sister April to the RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 7 show at Clapham Grand 🪩It was amazing spending time together, and I absolutely love drag as an art form; it is so creative and free. I was definitely fangirling!
I have also enjoyed a few picnics at Roding Valley Nature Reserve and Hyde Park, making the most of the beautiful weather we have been having🌸
On 23rd April, my best friend Emilie and I celebrated “Give Your Friend a Book and a Rose Day” 📚🌹 We exchanged books and roses as we are both big readers. It was so lovely, and we will definitely make it a yearly tradition.
I finally planted my spring and summer flowers in my garden, which I’m so happy about. I planted geraniums and lavender, and I have my allium bulbs coming up, which are so lovely🌿
