A Little Reminder to Pause
Hey everyone,
I hope you have all enjoyed my classes this week!
Pause
Lately, I’ve been reminding myself of the importance of pausing. It’s so easy to get caught up in the busyness of everyday life, constantly thinking about what’s next rather than being present in the moment. Sometimes, all we need is to take a deep breath, check in with ourselves and ask what we really need.
On the drive home from Norfolk on Monday morning, I listened to a Mel Robbins podcast where she spoke about the importance of asking ourselves: Is what’s stressing me out or bothering me really worth my energy?
It’s such a simple question, but one that can make us stop and think. We only have a certain amount of time each day, so it’s worth asking whether the way we spend it reflects our values. Are we giving too much attention to things outside of our control, rather than making time for what genuinely matters to us?
I have really felt the need to pause recently. After returning from an active holiday, with my business constantly on my mind and the colder weather affecting my fibromyalgia, I haven’t been feeling my best. I’ve been making a conscious effort to prioritise rest and listen to what my body needs.
My mind can often feel as though it’s constantly in fight, flight or freeze mode, making it difficult to switch off and be present. I’m learning that not everything needs an immediate response, and productivity doesn’t have to be the priority every day.
I’ve also been reminding myself that my worth isn’t measured by how much I achieve or how productive I am. It’s something I’m learning to embrace, particularly on the days when my fibromyalgia makes life a little harder.
The song Beautiful by India.Arie is a lovely reminder of this, encouraging us to recognise our own worth and appreciate ourselves for who we are, rather than what we do. Here's a link to listen:
Taking care of ourselves also allows us to show up more fully for others. World Mental Health Day on 10th October was an important reminder to check in with ourselves and those around us. We are all going through something, even when it isn’t obvious to others. A simple text to a friend or loved one saying, “I was just thinking of you. How are you?” can mean more than we realise. We don’t always need the perfect words or a solution. Sometimes, simply letting someone know we’re thinking of them is enough.
So, take this as your reminder to check in with yourself and the people you love. Are you making time for what matters most?
A little pause can be all we need to reconnect with ourselves.
Intention: I give myself permission to pause.
An Invitation to Pause: My Upcoming Yoga & Self-Care Workshop
With how busy life can get, I wanted to create an opportunity for us to slow down, take a breath and dedicate some time to ourselves. That’s why I’m so excited to be hosting my Yoga & Self-Care Workshop on Saturday 24 October, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Woollard Centre in Buckhurst Hill.
We’ll enjoy a gentle yoga practice, a long, cosy Savasana and time to relax with tea and cake. You’ll also receive a little goodie bag to take home!

Whether you’re new to yoga or have been practising for years, everyone is welcome. This is your opportunity to step away from everyday responsibilities and enjoy some well-deserved time for yourself.
Bring a Friend & Get a Free Class!
Bring a friend along to the workshop, and you’ll receive a free group yoga class as a thank you. After the workshop, simply message me to let me know which class you’d like to attend, and I’ll book you in.
I’d love for you to join me for a couple of hours of movement, mindfulness and self-care🤍
