Yoga Workshop Reflections
Hey everyone,
I hope you’ve been enjoying classes! Here’s a little recap of the last two themes we’ve explored, along with a few updates on life lately.
Acceptance
Acceptance is about meeting ourselves where we are, without judgement or resistance. It encourages us to let go of the need to control everything and acknowledge the present moment as it is.
This theme is particularly close to my heart when living with fibromyalgia. My symptoms can be unpredictable, and I’m learning to ride the wave rather than fight against how I feel. Some days, acceptance means recognising my limitations and allowing myself to slow down.
On the mat, this means listening to our bodies and adapting our practice to our energy levels that day, rather than pushing ourselves into something that doesn’t feel right.
At the end of these classes, I played Let Go and Trust by Chantress Seba, which captures this theme beautifully. You can listen to it on Spotify here:
Intention: I soften into what is.
Perspective
Perspective reminds us that the way we see things isn’t always the only way. We can get caught up in our thoughts and assumptions, but looking at a situation differently can open up new possibilities. We may not always be able to change a situation, but we can change how we choose to approach it.
I often put pressure on myself to be productive and focus on what I haven’t achieved, rather than appreciating what I have. Taking a step back helps me recognise what I’ve already done and remind myself that I don’t need to be productive all the time.
On the mat, we can explore this by trying a different variation of a pose or adjusting our alignment. A small change can completely alter how a movement feels, reminding us to stay curious and open to new experiences.
Intention: I allow myself to see things differently, with kindness and an open mind.
Yoga & Self-Care Workshop
Last Saturday, I held my Yoga & Self-Care Workshop, and it was such a special way to bring everyone together outside our usual classes. Both my sisters came along too, which I absolutely loved!
We enjoyed a gentle Hatha practice, holding poses for a little longer to explore deeper stretches, before finishing with a long Savasana to fully relax and switch off.
I think self-care can sometimes feel like this big, elaborate thing when, actually, it doesn't have to be! We're surrounded by wellness products and complicated routines, but sometimes it's as simple as pausing, taking a deep breath and asking yourself, What do I need right now? It might be movement, rest, or simply taking a little time away from your phone.
We finished with tea, cake and a good old yap, which was such a nice way to spend time together. I hope everyone enjoyed their little self-care goodie bags and left feeling relaxed and reconnected.
Thank you so much to everyone who came along! I'd love to host another workshop in the new year, so I'll keep you posted.
Life Lately🌸
The weekend before last, I spent an evening in Surrey celebrating my Nan’s 80th birthday. It was so lovely to catch up with family and have a much-needed boogie!
This Tuesday, I went to the Jazz Cafe in Camden with two friends to see a Frank Ocean tribute act. It was amazing, and I’m definitely going to listen to more of his music.
My fibromyalgia has been putting me through my paces lately, so I’m doing my best to manage my symptoms and look after myself between classes. Last week was also difficult as my cat Dixie, who is literally my child, was poorly and had to go to the vets. Thankfully, she’s all good now and back to being her usual sassy diva self!
I’ve also been seeing my lucky angel number, 46, everywhere lately, and I’m taking it as a little sign from the universe that good things are brewing! ✨
Next week’s theme: Self-Belief

See you on the mat next week,

A big thank you to Eloise - this week’s theme of Perspective has really helped me view some of my recent challenges in a much more favourable light ❤️❤️❤️
