Where do I even begin? This is such a proud and joyful moment for me. Starting this business on my own has been an incredible journey, and I’m so proud of what I’ve accomplished so far!

Falling in love with yoga all over again

Over this past year, my love for yoga has only grown deeper. Yoga is not just a practice; it’s an inspiring philosophy and lifestyle that has profoundly impacted my life. The connection between the mind and body is so powerful and meaningful, and sharing that with others has been the most rewarding experience.

The journey so far

I held my first yoga Yoga by Eloise class on February 7th last year. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful yogis, teaching summer yoga in the park, and holding private lessons in my home shala. Each experience has brought so much joy and fulfillment.

This journey hasn’t always been easy. Living with fibromyalgia, I’ve faced moments where I lost the ability to walk or even read. I vividly remember staring at books or my university work with tears in my eyes because the words jumbled on the page. There were times when I had to crawl around my house just to get from one place to another.

Looking back at how far I’ve come—from dropping out of university to regaining the ability to move my body and read (last year, I was able to read 46 books!) and sharing the joy of yoga with others—it feels like a complete transformation. Yoga has truly been a healing force in my life, and it’s a privilege to share that with my students.

Lessons Learned

Running Yoga by Eloise has been a steep learning curve. I’ve taught myself everything from sales and marketing to graphic design, finances, and even IT—hello, “Eloise from IT”! I’ve even built two websites along the way, which was both challenging and rewarding.

I quickly realised that teaching yoga (the most fun part!) is just 1% of running a business. Despite the challenges, every lesson has been worth it, and I’ve grown so much through the process.

Building a community

One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been building such an amazing yoga community. Everyone is so supportive and kind, and it’s been an honor to teach such wonderful people.

Through this community, I’ve made lifelong friendships.

Seeing my students show up on their mats each week and leave feeling calm and relaxed is such a wonderful feeling. Hearing how much my classes and teaching have helped them is the reason I started Yoga by Eloise in the first place: to connect with and support people through all stages of life.

Watching my students progress—becoming more confident and at ease on their mats—is incredible. I hope they carry the peace and love they’ve found in class into their everyday lives and share it with those around them.

Looking ahead

As I celebrate this milestone, I’m so excited about the future of Yoga by Eloise. Over the next year, I hope to expand by offering business and corporate workshops, more group classes, and private sessions. I can’t wait to connect with even more amazing and inspiring people.

I’m also looking to further invest in myself by completing an additional 300-hour yoga teacher training course next year! This is a huge step for me, and I can’t wait to deepen my practice and teaching so I can share even more with my students.

A message from my heart

From the very beginning, my mission has been to show people that yoga is for everyone. Yoga meets you exactly where you are, no matter your circumstances, and I hope to continue spreading this powerful message.

To everyone who has supported me on this journey: thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am forever grateful for each and every one of you.

Here’s to another incredible year of Yoga by Eloise!
