It’s That Time of Year Again

It is that time of year when we are constantly told that we need to reinvent ourselves overnight, buy the latest product that will apparently change our entire lives, or completely transform ourselves. We set unrealistic resolutions and end up feeling overwhelmed, and as we have failed before the year has even properly started.

In fact, research shows that around 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail within the first month. This is exactly why setting small, sustainable goals and being kind to yourself is so important. There are no quick fixes - true, lasting change takes time, patience, and consistent effort.

The Importance of Setting Goals 🎯

Setting goals gives us purpose. It helps guide our everyday choices and creates direction, even when things feel chaotic or difficult.

Small Sustainable Changes

The secret is to break bigger goals into small, attainable steps. These small steps slowly build lasting habits that grow over time.

It is also important to reward yourself throughout the process and to acknowledge your small wins 🏆They all count. They all matter. Focusing on sustainable change instead of instant results is the key to feeling confident and proud along the way.

Word of the Year

For the past few years, I have chosen one word that I want to embody throughout the coming year. I recommend choosing one word to guide you in 2026. Go with the first word that comes to mind, write it down, and place it somewhere you’ll see every day - your mirror, fridge, desk, etc. Let it remind you to live with intention. Here are my previous words:

2023: Self compassion 🤍

 2024: Grace 🌸

 2025: Trust 🤝

My Word for 2025: Trust

This past year, my word was Trust. I wanted to learn how to trust myself more and to listen to my gut. I truly feel like I achieved that. I feel so much more confident in my abilities and in my decision-making, especially in my business.

My business has grown five times since my first year, which still feels incredible to say 🎉 I feel more self-assured and more like myself, and I am very proud of that 🥰

My Word for 2026: Love ❤️

For 2026, I have chosen the word Love. I love love, and this word can touch so many areas of my life. More self-love and a stronger, kinder relationship with myself. More love poured into my business, even though I already give it so much. More love for my friends and family. And who knows, maybe meeting someone new as well.

My parents always tell me that the love I put into the world will come back to me in different ways. I want to keep giving the kind of love I hope to attract.

Affirmation: I attract love

A quote I really love for self-love is from Good Vibes, Good Life by Vex King:

“Self-love is the balance between accepting yourself as you are while knowing you deserve better and working towards it.”

To me, this means allowing myself to be proud of who I am right now while also knowing that growth and healing are still possible.

Reflections on 2025

Flying to Bali Alone 🌴

One of my biggest wins this year was flying to Bali by myself and back again ✈️ There have been so many times over the past few years when I could not even leave the house alone because of my fibromyalgia, leaving me overwhelmed, dissociated, in pain and incredibly anxious.

There were days when I had to crawl around the house because standing was too much. So flying halfway across the world feels unbelievable 🌏 I did a lot of work with my lovely therapist before the trip, and I am genuinely so proud of myself for doing it.

Reading Fifty Five Books 📖

I also surpassed my goal of reading fifty books this year and read 55 (20,000 pages) 🎉

Living with fibro meant losing the ability to read for a long time, which led me to drop out of university. Reading has always been something I’ve loved, so getting it back has been incredibly special ❤️

I read a little bit of everything, and I am not loyal to any particular genre, but if I had to choose my top three books of the year, they would be these (no particular order):

  • Good vibes, good life by Vex King

  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin

  • Complete Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins

Even though I loved reading again, I realised I put a lot of pressure on myself to reach a certain number of books read. It was almost like I wanted to prove to myself that I could read again, which is unnecessary. Next year, I will not set a number. I am going to read simply because I enjoy it 📚✨

Growing My Classes and Community 🤗

This year, I also started two new classes and built a wonderful and supportive community🌟 I am so grateful to each of you. It means so much more than I can explain. Every time someone new joins the community, I tell my parents, and I am so happy.

Building a business by myself has been a huge challenge, and I am constantly learning on the job. I am proud of what I am creating and excited for what is coming next.

Here are some of my favourite photos from this year:

Looking Ahead 🌟

So here is to 2026 🥂 I hope you can all step into the new year with more compassion for yourselves, more gentleness, and more belief in your own ability to grow. I cannot wait to practice with you and continue building this beautiful community throughout 2026 💖.

Over the coming months, I’m hoping to introduce some new classes and will keep you all posted as everything unfolds. I’m especially excited to be launching a new 10-part yoga series that delves deeper into yogic philosophy - I can’t wait to share more very soon. Classes start from Monday, 5th January!

Thank you for being here, for supporting me, and for showing up for yourselves 🙏 Here is to a new year filled with love, growth, and so many small victories ✨❤️
